The short shank rivet is used with the single-wrap method of strapping when the holes on the frame were drilled rather than punched. (Edges of drilled holes will be flush with frame.) With the single-wrap method, the heads of the rivets will show. The short shank rivet fits a 1/4” hole. Length of shaft is 5/8". See How To Install Vinyl Strap for example of single-wrap method.
